There is no doubt about it, Waxing can be a messy treatment. In addition to this, certain methods are pretty unhygienic too, don’t you agree?

Every time the spatula is re-dipped or a roller head turns, dead skin cells enter the wax and it is the dead skin cells that may carry the infection: Particles of hair may carry infection, in addition to this, blood and serum may come to the surface of the follicle another possible source of infection.

Remember - all these micro-organisms are invisible to the naked eye and many of them are responsible for spreading infectious disease.

• Bacteria - Folliculitus. (Bacterial infection affecting the follicle)

Facts
A favourable growing condition for Bacteria is on the surface of the skin. This is because it is warm and moist.

Bacteria, Fungi and Viruses will breed in a warm wax pot. The disease is then transferred to the open pores of the next client. This is a perfect environment for them to enter the follicle and surface cells!

Remember, it only takes one skin cell, one drop of serum or one drop of blood to carry the infection to another site therefore spreading the disease!

Think carefully about the hygiene risks associated with waxing and invest in the best professional system available. It has to make sense and you will be showing your clients that you care about them and want to protect them.
